Every so often, a piece of software is created that genuinely makes the lives of its users easier. It ain’t for nothing that TVtropes.com has defined something they call the archive binge (no one ever binges on TVtropes.com, of course…).
Archive Binge is when you find a new comic, blog, video channel, or any other sort of online archive, and then spend hours/days/weeks catching up. Webcomics are perhaps the most notorious example, but watching the complete Sex and the City on DVD counts as an archive binge, too.
The AutoPager is made to make your bingeing easier. Install it, and it will automatically load the next page in the archive while you scroll down, creating one giant page of content. No click-through.

The AutoPager’s use is by no means limited to webcomics. I installed it a few weeks ago, and it’s incredibly useful. No more loading individual pages of search results. Browse galleries at your leisure, not the server’s. Read Cracked.com articles in one shot.
It works on a page/site basis, so someone has to define the rules for the page you’re on. But it’s usually pretty easy to do, and there are manuals to help you do it. Once you have a rule that works, you can save it and share it with the world, improving the browsing experience of countless other users.
If you have your doubts, just consider this. I have a pretty quick broadband connection, but it was still taking me days to make it through comic archives. With this installed, I can read them in a matter of hours, much more comparable to having print volumes in front of me.
Thank you, open source software!
