Not a lot to say about this one. It was definitely amusing.
Totally ludicrous set-up that the book made work:
Morgana Hart has a maid who thinks she’s only fit to work as a common whore. Desperate to keep her from such a life, Morgana promises to help her become a fancy courtesan instead. Thus turns into a mini courtesan school run out of Morgana’s own home. Not the sort of thing you want going on in Regency England.
Moving in next door is Cyprian Sloane, dashingly handsome ex-rake who made his fortune doing some sort of dastardly undercover work for the English government and now wants to establish himself was a proper gentleman. Is Miss Hart TRYING to undermine his attempts!?
Yeah, as soon as you look too hard at all of that, it just seems silly. It is. But it’s well-written so you can suspend disbelief while reading.
The best parts were the descriptions of a London park turned into a night-time garden carnival. Who knew such a thing existed!? (Stop laughing, you Regency readers.)
